Complex also consists of a 32,000 square-foot multi-purpose facility containing:

  • Four Basketball Courts
  • Six Volleyball courts
  • 3 baseball/softball fields
  • Full concessions and snack bar/grill area
  • HD TVs throughout for viewing sporting events

SMSC host numerous youth basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball tournaments as well as instructional camps and player showcases.

Our Mission:

Smoky Mountain Sports Complex in Elizabethton, TN strives to be the premier youth sports facility in the region.  Our goal is to offer the athletes, their parents and the spectators an experience that sets the standard in youth competitive sports.  We want our participants to become better athletes and learn life skills that make them better citizens.

Complex features 4 high school regulation basketball courts.

In this photo you can see the vinyl and mesh curtains that divide the floors.
These curtains help contain noise and also limit visual distractions.

Complex also features 42 & 50 inch plasma HD TV's throughout where
patrons can watch their favorite sports teams in action.

 

Courts are separated by large custom-made divider curtains. These help reduce noise from adjacent courts and also prevent balls from rolling onto other playing surfaces.

All 8 basketball goals are the T-Rex 96 Main Court model. Goals are portable and adjustable from 7 to 10 feet in height.  Backboard extension is 96 inches from base.  This limits player collisions with the base of the basketball goal.

The flooring used in the facility is Taraflex Sports Flooring.  Taraflex flooring is designed exclusively for sporting facilities like this one.  Taraflex flooring provides over 35% shock absorption and over 98% accurate ball bounce meeting all NCAA requirements.  Taraflex flooring has been used for indoor events in past Olympic Games for over 25 years.
