Elite Youth Competitive Teams Forming This Fall

Smoky Mountain Sports Complex is excited to announce beginning in September 2009 we will begin holding tryouts for our first Copperheads Elite (Boys) and Lady Copperheads Elite (Girls) basketball teams. Our goal is to field at least one team for each age division (boys and girls.) We will begin with the 9 and under up to the 12 and under division in the fall of 2009. Followed by the older divisions (13u to 17u) when their school basketball seasons end.

Tryouts will be held and players will be selected based on overall skill level. We will be sending out flyers most Tri Cities and surrounding area schools in August 09 to notify them of this upcoming tryout. Everyone is invited to tryout whether you are from TN, VA or NC.

Our goal is to give the young players in our area that are committed to becoming better basketball players an avenue to further develop their skills outside of the traditional school or recreational league setting. Players will receive high level instruction from carefully selected coaches with prior youth basketball coaching experience. It is our hopes that these teams will be competitive enough to not only compete in local tournaments but to also be competitive enough to go on and participate in substate, state qualifiers and national basketball competitions.
